Harp Lessons
A well respected harp teacher, both for classical (and technique)
and specialising in jazz.
Amanda is the Jazz harp specialist at Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Hull University. She has also taught at the Royal Northern College of Music, Junior RNCM (harp and mixed instruments) and Junior Department of RWCMD. In 2020 Amanda was given her own studio on Harp Column Academy, an honour in itself, teaching amongst iconic figures including Park Stickney and Felice Pomeranz (Berklee).
As well as private lessons in person, Amanda is able to offer remote lessons online using Zoom. She also runs intensive courses.
Recent courses have included The Wild Stings Festival in the Royal Northern College of Music where Amanda was invited to perform with her trio as well as tutoring individually, group harp lessons and mixed instrument workshops. Other courses/classes have included the Camac Weekend in Cardiff and The Clasarch Society near Bristol, Transitional Harp Play Day in Caerphilly, RWCMD Junior Department and RWCMD Classical degree mixed instrument jazz workshop.

Amanda is a pioneering Jazz composer for harp and the current Trinity Harp syllabus (2020-2023) contains 22 of her compositions. These works allow harpists to play in a jazz style as well as introducing them, from the beginning to all aspects of jazz including improvisation.
